With the objective to enhance students’ participation in the implementation of the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020 and to make learners aware of the various reforms in the higher education system, the University Grants Commission (UGC) has launched the “NEP SAARTHI” initiative at campuses of HEIs. UGC sought nominations of 3 students from each University or College, who may be considered as NEP SAARTHIs’. UGC has selected 721 NEP SAARTHIs in total from 262 HEIs based on the nominations.
UGC approved three students of Sri Venkateswara College, namely, Himangi Patnaik, B.A. English (H), 3rd Year, Syed Sameed Anwar, B.A. English (H), 3rd Year and Tarannum Chowdhary, B.Sc. Life Sciences (P), 3rd Year as NEP SAARTHIs
Sri Venkateshwara College under the patronship of the Former Acting Principal, Prof. K. Chandramani Singh constituted a dedicated committee on 8th Feb 2024 to implement the NEP SAARTHI initiative in the college directed by UGC. To promote National Education Policy-2020, the committee is meant to conduct various activities in the campus and outside as per the calendar schedule provided by UGC. The committee has a scope to accomplish a newly directed task too.
Objectives:
1. To create awareness and promote the initiatives of NEP 2020 among students on campus
2. To encourage and motivate students to actively participate in implementing the NEP 2020 initiatives
3. To establish a feedback mechanism for the UGC to understand the impact of NEP 2020 initiatives on students and address their concerns
