LABORATORIES

Besides well-equipped laboratories for the undergraduate courses, the Department of Physics also has research laboratories with state-of-the-art equipment. A healthy research environment exists in the department, where Ph.D. students registered with the Department of Physics and Astrophysics, University of Delhi — with our teachers as supervisors — and undergraduate students of the college actively undertake research work.

The Department of Chemistry runs dedicated undergraduate practical laboratories for organic, inorganic and physical chemistry, staffed by trained laboratory personnel. Laboratory operations follow documented safety practice — the department maintains a Material Safety Data Sheet (MSDS) for every chemical used in the Chemistry laboratories.

The Department of Electronics maintains two well-equipped laboratories — an Electronics Lab and a Photonics Lab — that support its applied-science curriculum and hands-on student learning, providing a conducive learning environment for the all-round development and progression of students.

Well-equipped laboratories with highly trained laboratory staff together create an academic ambience for the inclusive growth of students. Hands-on learning is emphasised through value-added experiments conducted in regular practical classes, and through summer research under the SRI-VIPRA programme.

The Department of Botany houses three laboratories, a Botanical Museum and a small research facility. Students also have access to a tissue-culture unit and open-top chambers, supporting practical exposure in contemporary areas of plant science. The department's work is further supported by the college Botanical Garden and Rock Garden.

The Department of Zoology has well-equipped teaching laboratories, a state-of-the-art Museum and a departmental library with a good collection of books. Two advanced research laboratories — the Animal–Plant Interactions Lab and the Fish Immunology Lab (with a zebrafish facility) — support Ph.D. work, Master's dissertations and undergraduate internships.

Students of the B.Sc. Life Science and Biological Science courses receive structured laboratory training across biochemistry, botany, zoology and microbiology, using the shared science laboratories, instrumentation and museum resources of the college.
